Overview of Cassa Integrazione, Dismissals and Unemployment - January 2013
Authorized hours of CIG (Area of Milan), CIG Ordinary (Assolombarda companies) and Unemployment (Italy and other countries).
After the usual slowdown at the end of 2012, in January 2013 the Cassa Integrazione Guadagni grew again, both in the Area of Milan and in Italy. The only exception was CIG in deroga that dropped as compared with December 2012, especially at national level.
The request of CIG increased for Assolombarda companies also by 31%, but the growth was lower than in the Area of Milan: because of this the share of Assolombarda companies' CIGO on the total amount of the Area of Milan decreased from 22% to 18%.
In December 2012 the Italian unemployment rate was static at 11.2% under the average of Euro Area (11.7%). The unemployment rate was unchanged in Germany and in the USA as well.
