Business Services Sector - Third quarter 2013

In the third quarter 2013 the confidence of business services sector in the Milan Area increased after six months of decreasing values.

 In detail

The confidence climate index moved from 65.3 in the Second Quarter to 67.9 in the Third Quarter 2013. The growing of the index was due to the contribution of all three of its components: orders, orders expectation and Italian economic situation improved, even if they stayed on a negative balance.

In terms of assessments, turnover worsened, losing almost entirely the recovery of the last quarter. Prices instead increased, but remaining on a negative value. Employment collapsed, reaching the lowest value since the beginning of the survey (First Quarter 2002).

With reference to forecasts for the next 3-4 months, prices expectations slightly worsened, whereas turnover expectations went up, though maintaining a negative balance. Finally, forecasts about employment were rather steady.
