L'ecosistema startup di Milano

Una ricerca Bocconi traccia la mappa generale dell’ecosistema startup di Milano e le interconnessioni tra gli attori. Così si può spiegare perché questa città è di gran lunga la capofila dell’universo startup italiano.

Milan has a large, vibrant city startup ecosystem that is comprised of more than 650 key players and made up of 23 key segments.

Important elements in the development and growth of a city’s startup ecosystem, for example the startup ecosystem of Milan, are the elements of collaboration and contamination of players within the city’s startup ecosystem.

The elements of collaboration and contamination foster an exciting environment of collaboration between people with different backgrounds and skillsets, so that ideas evolve in new and creative ways. It can enable the networking of people from different industries, segments, backgrounds and skills.

Social network analysis maps enable the identification of key anchor players within a city’s startup ecosystem that provide and foster important contamination and collaboration which is essential for the development and growth of the city’s startup ecosystem.

Social network analysis maps can enable the identification of different attributes. The social network analysis map of the startup ecosystem of Milan in this article identifies the attribute of the out-degree, which shows the number of collaborators that there are on a particular player or project in the startup ecosystem of Milan. In this social network analysis map, the larger the node (circle) size and the darker the node (circle) color indicates the larger the amount of collaborators that there are involved on a player or project.

This social network analysis map of the startup ecosystem of Milan demonstrates that Startup Town is an important anchor player for the development of collaboration and contamination. In this map, Startup Town is indicated as a key player for collaboration and contamination as indicated by its large node (circle) size and dark node (circle) color.

Startup Town has many players within the startup ecosystem involved in it, which has enabled it to become a key anchor point of contamination, collaboration, support and development of startups and the startup ecosystem of Milan.

Startup Town’s aim is to stimulate startups and startup growth by helping them build relationships with small and large businesses and many key startup ecosystem players. Startup Town has achieved this aim by implementing two key concepts.

The first concept is to support startups by offering a dedicated service that puts the startups in contact with important players within the city’s startup ecosystem, for example local authorities, banks and co-working spaces to enhance knowledge, skills, creativity and innovation.

The second concept implemented by Startup Town is the creation of a large network of interested players, including over 60 key players within the startup ecosystem, for example the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the City of Milan Government, Regione Lombardia, universities, incubators and venture capitalists. Startup Town brings together these players to identify and propose policies to support startups.

Startup Town is an example of one of the key anchor players in the startup ecosystem of Milan that provides and develops contamination, collaboration, support and development in the startup ecosystem of Milan.
